Quick and easy projects to make with "polar" fleece fabrics;
Fleece Scarves
Just one yard will make 3 adult or 4 kid's scarves.Fold 1 yard of fleece in half so the selvages meet. If you are looking at the fabric on your table, the selvages will be closest to you. The fabric will be 36" from left to right (the fabric "length, or 1 yard) and approximatetly 30" from top to bottom (the fabric "width")
Cut off 1 inch of the selvages. Selvages are the "curly" edges of the fabric.
For adult scarves, use a rotary cutter and mat to cut three strips 12" x 58"
For kid's scarves, use a rotary cutter and mat to cut four strips 9" x 58"
If you are using scissors, you can use a regular sheet of paper to cut the scarves. For the adult scarves, turn the piece of paper so the widest side is horizontal. Place a edge of the paper even with the left edge of the fabric. Using the right edge of the paper as a guide, cut the fabric. Move the paper up as you cut the entire piece of fabric. This will give you a scarf approx. 11.5" x 58"
If you are using scissors, you can use a regular sheet of paper to cut the scarves. For the kid's scarves, turn the piece of paper so the narrowest side is horizontal. Place a edge of the paper even with the left edge of the fabric. Using the right edge of the paper as a guide, cut the fabric. Move the paper up as you cut the entire piece of fabric. This will give you a scarf approx. 8.5" x 58"
Cut the fringe. Make cuts 1/2 inch or 1 inches apart. Cut up from the edge of the fabric about 4 inches.
